Maxston Turns One | Smash Cake Session | Baton Rouge Family Photographer | Independence Park Botanical Gardens

I absolutely loved getting to meet this beautiful family at Independence Park back in March; my last shoot before the stay at home order! This was a smash cake session for an adorable one year old boy. Usually for smash cake sessions, we get in some family pictures first (if they want to), then a few pics of the birthday boy or girl, and we save the cake for last. I had such a great time with this family. Tiffani & Malcolm were so sweet! It took Maxston a minute to warm up to me, but we got some smiles! He loved getting to take some pics with his baseball. He wasn't too sure about cake though!

Well, I can't believe it! I'm finally blogging pictures from 2020! It feels good to catch up!

I had so much fun getting to take my friend Melissa's maternity pictures back in February. I met Melissa through Sarah's Laughter, an amazing support group for women going through infertility. Melissa & her husband Philip did not have an easy journey but it brought them to their sweet baby boy! As difficult as it was, I know they would both say it was worth every minute. Nathan came into this world at the end of March, right in the middle of a pandemic, and Melissa & Philip seem to have just taken it all in stride. They are the sweetest couple; I love their genuine happiness in these pictures. Their joy is so evident, and I couldn't be happier for them. Thanks again, Melissa! Motherhood looks good on you!

I loved meeting Lexie downtown for her headshot session. I'd never met her before, and instantly loved her sweet nature. I could tell right away she is such a kind and genuine person. I really enjoyed getting to know her as we walked all over downtown. Lexie is a recent graduate of Baton Rouge Magnet High School, and is going to school to pursue acting. She needed headshots for her upcoming auditions, and I am so happy I got to take them for her. She is naturally gorgeous, as you can see! Thanks again, Lexie! Can't wait to see where life takes you!
